Tradition, family and passion
are the main ingredients of Su Lizu's recipe.
Since I was a child I have worn the traditional costume of Orgosolo, accompanied by canto a tenore performances from my father and the aromas of the local dishes prepared by my mother. My adolescence has been marked by the dance steps of the folk group, thanks to which I had the opportunity to travel across Europe. Along with my folk passion, which allowed me to travel a lot, my job as a restaurateur led me to work near the Lombardy’s lakes for a long time.
But my Sardinian heart brought me back to the island, where I would experience new professional adventures surrounded by the colors of the murals of Orgosolo. About 15 years ago I started to commit myself to the art of pizza making. It was a venture that excited me more than I had thought. Quite soon my passions and my job got together and the combination of ingredients and special doughs won me over, in the same way traditional dances and canto a tenore did.
That is the reason why I chose the name ‘Su Lizu’ for my new business. Su Lizu is the lily which is finely embroidered onto the elegant apron of the traditional female costume of Orgosolo.
I strongly wanted to combine the love for my land and its history with the passion for my recipes, as the first has inspired, and continues to inspire the latter endlessly, hand in hand like my beloved dances.
